Joining Us

We Welcome New Members 

The annual subscription for 2026 is £45.00.  The membership year runs January to December but we offer discounts for joining part-way through the year. Please contact the membership secretary (membership.taslea@gmail.com) for any enquiries.

Lectures

Guests are welcome at our meetings for which there is no charge. However, as a charity we would welcome a voluntary donation which would be used to support our activities in the local community. It would be helpful, but not essential, to advise the membership secretary in advance if you wish to attend:

Data Protection

On 25 May 2018 the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into operation. Although the changes are aimed more at commercial organisation and fundraising charities the legislation applies to us.

GDPR is a complex area but is not designed to adversely affect our relationship with our members.

  • As a member of our society we hold your email address, name, address and telephone number.
  • Members’ details are processed fairly and lawfully in order to satisfy the agreement entered with you on your admittance to membership. This ensures that you receive the latest news and information about upcoming events, and can participate on what The Arts Society Leatherhead (“The Society”) does.
  • Members’ details are passed to “The Arts Society” to enable inclusion on a database of members which helps us run the Society, and allows the mailing of the quarterly magazine and other communications by The Arts Society.
  • Your details will be kept safely and securely and you have the ability to opt out of our communications at any time.
  • We will adhere to your current communications preferences, e.g by email or letter

In addition:

  • We consider how long we need to keep information (financial information needs by law to be kept 6 years)
  • We remind you on membership renewal that we process your information.
  • Leaving members can ask to be forgotten.  We wiill then remove all your details from our records and those of The Arts Society
